Boulder County’s Parks & Open Space, Cultural History employee Sheryl
Kippon will introduce us to volunteer Laura Bedford.
This is Professor Bedfords’ third year as a volunteer for Boulder County’s
Cultural and Heritage Program. Her work with the county began as a critter
caretaker for the animals on the Lohr/McIntosh historical farm. She has
since expanded her “chores” to leading tours of the farm and participating
in the living history demonstrations at Walker Ranch. She is interested in
anything historic and practical and traditional ways of living.
Laura will take us on a virtual trip to the Walker Ranch that is located in the
Flagstaff vicinity of our Boulder County foothills. The Cultural and Heritage
Program offers entertainment and participation in various frontier life
activities.
This year is Boulder County Parks and Open Space’s 50th Anniversary so
there will be some special programs and information about some of those
events and activities will be shared with us.
