John Montoya in front of the Richart home on Third Avenue, Niwot. John was born in 1933 and is Juan Apodaca’s grandson. Apolonia and Virginia (Apodaca) Montoya are John’s parents.

Juan Apodaca was the Colorado & Southern Railroad Section Foreman. He was transferred to Niwot from Trinidad, Colorado, ca 1920s. He and his family lived in the Niwot Section House. Juan is at left, his wife Emilia de Vargas Apodaca is third from the right.
