Callewaert Chromatic Accordion, 1907. Belgian with German parts. Made by Callewaert Company. Still in working condition. Includes: case, strap, key, and lock. Donor William Carton’s father Cyriel Carton bought it in Belgium prior to sailing to U.S. in 1918. He learned to play it on shipboard. Cyriel Carton previously worked in an iron mill in Michigan, then came to Colorado to work in coal mines. Also worked for Great Western Sugar Beet Company, and farmed in the Gunbarrel area of Boulder County.
